I'm BJ, a designer who has spent the better part of a decade making sure the thing on the shelf looks as good as the thing in the deck. My background is in brand design and production design, which means I've developed a genuinely unhealthy relationship with dielines, Pantone conversions, and the specific kind of joy that comes from a print run that actually matches the proof.
That print instinct has followed me into digital, where I've designed across social, web, email, and everything in between, translating the same discipline (attention to detail, respect for a grid, a slight paranoia about consistency) to screens instead of shelves. Different medium, same obsession.
Right now I design for Owala a water bottle brand, which sounds simple until you realize people have real, sometimes fierce opinions about hydration. I've learned to respect that.
Outside of work, I'm pulled in a few directions at once: Japanese design philosophy, streetwear, film, and enough basketball opinions to make a Kings fan's optimism look reasonable (it is not, but I stand by it anyway). I like design that has a point of view but still knows how to sit quietly in a room. I try to build things the same way.
If you want to talk shop, or about the league, I'm around.
